Welcome!
Whether you are visiting this site to learn more about taking notes, practice your skills with a variety of different texts, or use the collaborative note-taking space, you are in the right place. Note-taking is an incredibly useful skill for students or all ages and learners of all kinds. It is not, however, a natural talent. Note-taking is a skill that is learned and developed through thought, attention, and practice. This site is designed with middle school students in mind, but can be used by learners of any age who are looking for a basic introduction to note-taking strategies.

This site is organized into three general (and mostly self-explanatory) sections:
LearnIn the Learn section, there are a variety of lessons and activities to introduce you to the basics of note-taking and to topics such as outlining, visual note-taking, plagiarism, and more.
PracticeIn the Practice section, you will have the opportunity to select a text of your choosing, practice your note-taking skills, and submit your notes for feedback from your teacher.
CollaborateThe Collaborate section offers space for you to share your notes on assigned class texts with your classmates and see what your classmates' notes look like for the same text.
For those of you who are interested, the Appendices section includes things like a references list, a glossary, and some background information for the site. You can find each of these sections by using the navigation bar at top of the page. Good luck exploring!
